Curved glass.<\/strong> Panels bent to a radius rather than flat panes. Curved glass drives cost up sharply, because every panel is a custom piece.<\/p>

Frames.<\/strong> Frameless designs use the glass edges themselves with minimal fittings. Black or white steel frames give a cleaner industrial line and cost less. Stainless frames suit more traditional interiors.<\/p>

4. How a Glass Shaft Is Supported<\/h2>

A self-supporting glass elevator<\/strong> carries its own load on a steel frame. The frame takes the weight down to the floor, so the surrounding walls do not have to. This is what makes shaftless and freestanding installations possible in the middle of a room.
